Launched Spring 2022
The aim of Women in the Workshop is to give participants the tools, the knowledge and the support to achieve simple DIY tasks around the home.
We believe in strengthening independence, resilience and giving women a new community.
In Spring 2022 we launched our fundraising campaign for Women in the Workshop. We needed £25,000 to run 10 courses and support 100 women in Exeter. After this initial fundraising campaign - having raised around £6000 - we ran 2 successful courses in June and July.
In order to continue these courses we launched a second fundraising campaign, this time on Crowdfunder. In July 2022 we met our £12,500 Crowdfunder target, securing funding for another five courses - that’s 50 more women in Exeter who have gained skills and confidence through attending these courses.
We’ve decided to bring this course back to offer even more women the opportunity to feel empowered in their own skills. Thanks to the wonderful support of Growing Communities Fund who have made this possible.
