Recovering   & Overcoming

We’re a creative space in Exeter with a heart for people

It’s well known that creating things benefits our physical and mental well-being, boosts self-esteem, and enhances career opportunities. Yet, many of us don’t know where to start or lack the tools to bring our ideas to life. That’s where we come in.

We provide opportunities for people to create exciting projects and be part of shared endeavours. Our studio serves as a space for learning from experts and practising new skills. While our main base is in the heart of Exeter, we also run sessions across the city in local spaces. This approach allows us to connect with Exeter as a whole and ensures that what we offer is accessible to everyone.

We believe that community is a vital part of working, learning, and making. By collaborating with others, we can build trust and friendships, fostering sustainable and positive change throughout Exeter.

On an average week we can have around eighty volunteers and course participants working at the Co Create workshops.

Meet Lisa…

Co Create has given me a new sense of purpose in a safe space, close to my home, with kind and authentic people. I feel valued, respected and genuinely cared for by the Co Create team.Being regularly involved is providing me with the belonging and sense of purpose I need to enable me to balance my health challenges.

I’m actually starting to feel ‘good enough.’”

Meet Josh…

“Before Co Create I had no aspirations, zero confidence and I barely left my home. New Leaf connected me to Co create and signed me up for some of the workshops. They helped me develop my social interaction and woodworking skills as well as supporting me in general.

It has allowed me to dream of what is possible for my life. I’d like to become a carpenter.”
