Form and Foster is a 7 week programme focused on helping unemployed participants design, develop and sell the products they create during the course.

9.30am - 3.30pm (1st floor location with no lift)

Sessions will run 2 days a week - Thursdays and Fridays. During the sessions at the Co Create studio, you will have access to tools, equipment and materials to prototype your idea.  Online marketing specialists and local expertise will be on hand to give your start up idea the support it needs to take it from sketch to shop window.

Inspired by Dragons Den and The Apprentice, we want to create a community start up hub where participants are given the opportunity to dream beyond their current situation and take steps towards a rewarding job.

 

A large part of the project is focusing on using waste materials to create a viable product. We have connections across the city with various manufacturers who will supply waste products participants can use. Materials such as, (but not exclusively) wood, leather, wax, and metal. We are excited to see what people will create!

What will we make..?

Some participants may come with an idea in mind, we will do our best to help foster this and help it become a reality. Other participants may want to join in with a group idea where different people’s skills can be used to support one another.

What if I can’t attend all the sessions..?

To get the best out of the programme we encourage participants to prioritise Form and Foster for the next 7 weeks. However, we understand that prior arrangements/ illness may not make this possible. We ask that you attend as many sessions as possible.

Do I qualify for this project..?

To participate in Form and Foster you will need to be currently unemployed, over 18, have either a Birth Certificates, passport or ID card and are eligible to work and live in the UK.
