Women in the Workshop
The aim of Women in the Workshop is to give participants the tools, the knowledge and the support to achieve simple DIY tasks around the home.
Chop & Chat
Chop & Chat is weekly drop-in session at our workshop on the Quay, where men are invited to come and make things out of wood and use the workshop. Sometimes we chop, dry and package wood for our Kind Kindling project, other times we make planters for local community projects.
Boatyard Bikes
Join us for our weekly drop in and learn how to repair and MOT motorbikes. We’ll be running two sessions a week, 9.30am - 12.30 and 1pm - 4pm. No need to book just come along to whichever time is best for you.
Holy Fool Barista Training
We’re hosting Holy Fool, in partnership with St Basil’s Devon, as they run their first ever training programme. The course will teach participants a broad spectrum of technical skills including an introduction to brewing espresso, dialling in and steaming milk. Working alongside course leaders, students will also receive hospitality experience by attending local events in Exeter to serve coffee.

Boatyard Bikes
Join us for our weekly drop in and strip down and rebuild old motorbikes. Birthed out of a desire to create a space where we can chat and build community around a communal project. No experience needed, just a willingness to muck in and meet new folks. We mainly work on Honda CG 125 as they are simple, light and parts are widely available. We’ll be running two sessions a week, 10.00 - 12.30 and 13.00 - 16.00. No need to book just come along to whichever time is best for you.
Once the bike is finished we will sell it to fund the purchase of another project bike, tools and equipment. If you have a bike or parts that you would like to donate to the project, we would love to hear from you!
